St. Vincent Degree College of Commerce was started in 1970 for working students to earn and to learn. The Junior section was started in 1979 and the Post?graduate section in 1981 by Fr. Walter de Souza, SJ. The beneficiaries are mostly the poor and Catholic families from all the parishes in the city and suburbs of Pune. This is the only night Catholic institution, which caters to boys and girls of all denominations who seek a University education and economic upliftment. In 1995, the University of Pune recognised this service and granted permanent affiliation to the night college.
